Copy Events

A number of users wanted to create regular ongoing events but that had different task owners for them. In one example, they wanted to do a carpool but have different people pick up different people on different weeks. Also, another play group had the ubiquitous Costco run that parents volunteered to do but that they wanted different people to be assigned to the run.

So we created a new Copy Events feature so that you can easily copy the events but without copying the task assignments. You can copy the events daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, every 4 weeks, monthly and yearly. Give it a spin and let us know if you like it and most importantly how we can improve it.

One of the reasons we implemented "copy" instead of recurring is because of the potential complications with "recurring" events's interdependencies. Since we have tasks as well as events, changing anything raises a lot of hairy questions "e.g., if you change a task, does it propagate to all the recurring events?" you get the picture.

So, since most activities are just copied anyways, we figured this was the simplest approach that would meet most people's needs.

First of all - what a brilliant website / idea! I have been telling all the roommoms at school.
My question is can you copy tasks from one qlubb to another ? Alot of the tasks are the same for each grade.

thanks

Thank you for your kind words - we really appreciate it. Unfortunately we do not have a copy task across Qlubbs. That's a good idea for us and we'll put that in consideration for a future release.

Thanks for spreading the word!

Best,
Qlubb Staff.
