A couple of more productivity features added:
We added a new feature which allows you to assign multiple people to a single task. This happens quite frequently when you have a big task or something that has to involve several people (like manning a booth).
We also added a "done" button so you can track what things you have left to do and what things you have finished. So you don't need to delete the task once done -- instead everyone can bask in your glory of your finished task :-).
Here's to getting things done!!

S3 Outage... Our apologies
We were enjoying our lovely weekend when we were surprised to discover that S3 was down for several hours Sunday morning. As many of you know, we are completely hosted on the Amazon cloud. Though, it appears that the EC2 was not affected, but with S3 down, we did see a disruption in service - so we apologize and hope this does not become a regular event.
But at the end of the day, we have been happy with AWS and I am sure it is far more reliable and efficient than had we done it ourselves!

Back-to-school starts...
Time flies... Just as I was beginning to settle into the summer routine, I find myself already preparing for Back-to-School. For Qlubb that means a full-court marketing press, as a majority of our users are parents and children-related groups (Knitting, book clubs and triathlong groups - WE STILL LOVE YOU).
This past Spring, a great educator's website, iLearn Technology, found us and really LOVED our site, even back then with its basic functionality. "This is social networking at its finest for schools!" THANKS. And we hope parents and teachers take this opportunity to get on board and get their classroom/roomparenting activities on this new school year.
So over the next few weeks you will see some really exciting events here at Qlubb as we get ready to send our kids off to school (YEAH!)

Glad to be here
hi...
I just got back a very rewarding first day at BlogHer08 conference in San Francisco. It was overwhelming just meeting all the women bloggers and the tremendous online community they have created. It really opened my eyes to the power of the voice of one.
Though I have had anonymous blog for the past few years, I have decided to start another blog on this website, with the purpose to share the motivations, challenges, and solutions that we face here at Qlubb. I hope this increased level of transparency will invite our users to engage more frequently in a two-way conversation about what they like/dislike about Qlubb.
At the end of the day, I started Qlubb to help the millions of busy, multi-tasking individuals (YOU). Nothing is sacred and everything is appreciated!
Keep Qlubb-ing

Updated Home page - Create a Qlubb in one click
We keep getting great feedback on how it's so easy to create a Qlubb. No registration or configuration is needed and Qlubb creators can get started immediately.
We decided to streamline the Qlubb creation process even further now. Before we used to require an email confirmation which involved an extra step. Now we've implemented a Qlubb creation box that just asks you to type in some special characters, enter the password and off you go with a newly created Qlubb. (We have to ask you to type in some characters of a graphic image so that we can make sure the person is human and not some hacker robot -- it's pretty standard practice now on the web).
The website also has a learn more section which walks you through some of our more prominent features.
Another important thing we added to the site are examples of other types of Qlubbs. Our initial example on the site was a playgroup and not surprisingly, most of the Qlubbs created were for playgroups. We started to see many other types of Qlubbs being formed, such as book clubs, knitting clubs, sports teams, faith groups, etc. We decided to include some additional examples so that you can see how Qlubb can help you with your other activities as well.
One thing that we see a lot of is what we call "referrals" - where a member of one Qlubb starts one for another. People in general are active, and are a part of multiple groups. During any given day a user might be planning the next playgroup session for one child, while being a room parent for their other child, while training with Team in Training for an upcoming marathon, while being active in the Church community, while volunteering for the Rotary Club. Anytime you have a group of people doing stuff, we hope that Qlubb can help. We encourage all of our users to think about how Qlubb can help their other groups be more organized, increase participation and engage more deeply.
