We discovered that Outlook mail client adds strange characters to the front of emails(see the past post). So we have been trying to write out own patch to this problem (the problem lies in a Rails mail library gem). We thought we had it conquered a few days ago, only to realize that Outlook 2006 was adding yet another different set of characters (Microsoft, you!!).
So our developers were at it again last night and we think we have this problem nipped in the bud this time. So if you use Outlook email client - let us know if you see the issue arise. Please send us your Outlook version, Word version and the offending characters!
